Kanye West who is known as a businessman and mostly as an entertainer have plans of setting up a project to help cater for low income housing problems. In an interview with Forbes, Kanye West told the interviewer how he has been working on prefabricated structures that Star Wars Luke Skywalker’s childhood home inspired. He is trying to use these homes as an option to find a solution to low income housing. Zack O’ Malley Greenburg who was the Forbes reporter reported the prototypes of the housing as “Skeletons of wooden spaceships” with each of them having oblong and dozens of feet tall. In San Francisco, West will be meeting with potential investors who are battling with lots of homelessness problem.
In the last two years, it has been reported that there has been an increase of 17% in homelessness statistics in the city. Over 5,180 people were discovered to be unsheltered out of the 8,011 people that were counted in January to be homeless. This increase is caused amid a rise in the median value to $1.36 million according to statistics made on online real estate site Zillow. This means over 2.8% increase in homelessness in the past year. $1.29 million is the median listing price in the city.
Double digit increases in homelessness population have also been experienced by other California cities and countries. West ranked third on Forbes’ list of the highest-paid entertainers, behind wife Kim Kardashian West’s half-sister Kylie Jenner. West generated an estimated $1 billion in sales of his Yeezy shoe line alone over the course of 12 months.
Beyond the reality television, makeup and design empires Kardashian West is in to, she as expanded with a foray into legal matters. She has gotten herself involved in criminal justice reform and she even started attending White House events and she speaks with President Trump. The decision to grant clemency to Alice Johnson was credited to her as Alice was serving a life sentence in prison for a non-violent drug-related offenses.
